Harvesting...

Nope we don't have a farm with corn and soybeans like many of our neighbors and friends. However, we did harvest apples, peaches, and corn this year :-) YUMMY!!

Our wonderful neighbor Miss Barb has a very large apple tree that was just loaded with large apples. She picked some and then told us we could have the rest, which was basically a whole tree of apples!! We made applesauce, apple butter, and apple pies!!

Then... our good friends have horses on a rental property and the owner said they had picked all the peaches they wanted and our friend could have the rest. She shared the abundance with two families, us being one of them!!! I must say, peaches are not nearly as easy or fun to "put up". These were tiny and that made it worse, BUT we have lots of frozen peaches and peach butter AND they are yummy!!

Here we have pictures of our friends and all the children got to ride back "to the ranch" (or town where we were putting up the peaches) in the back of the pick-up truck!! Thanks Steve for the ride!!

We had SOOO many peaches, that we had to do some more at home in order to get them done... We did have to throw many away as we just got so carried away with our picking and there was not enough time to get them all put up before they started to bruise and rot :-(
Here Brekyn and Griffin were wonderful helpers with putting up the peaches at the house. We had a great processing line and we did good together, the three of us :-)

Sean and Daddy were at a Father/Son campout and Corben and Logan decided to play football outside with all the neighbor boys :-)
