This year we switched to Apologia's Elementary Series... We started with the book Exploring Creation with Zoology 1: Flying Creatures of the Fifth Day.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Jeannnie Fulbright for such a wonderful set of Creation Science school books!!! They are so educational and make learning SO much fun!!
We started off the year at the beginning of the book (go figure, but if you were doing this study it would be more understandable), anyway... we have learned so far about: What is Zoology, What makes a bird a bird, Birds of a feather, and we are now onto Flying Factuals.
We know we have an insect study coming up and so we have been collecting bugs for our bug lessons :-) We are pinning them to collect them, thanks to Lane/Mona Walker for the styrofoam backing from their house :-) Many, many stories have been placed into our memory throughout this bug collecting :-) Just ask the kiddo's about it!!
Oh yeah, and all the bird experiments have been wonderful also :-)
